About the Recipe

This is another really easy and versatile recipe! I like to use everything but the bagel seasoning, but you can use herbs, french fry seasoning, or just a classic salt and pepper! It's also really easy to double or even triple so you can get more crackers out of it.

Ingredients

Equipment

  1. electric mixer or whisk

  2. large bowl

  3. cookie sheet

  4. parchment paper

Ingredients

  1. 400g starter, active or discard

  2. 4 tbsp melted butter

  3. 1/2 tsp salt

  4. seasonings to taste, ie everything bagel

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350F and line cookie sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix starter, butter, and salt until well combined.

  3. Spread the mixture thinly onto the parchment paper. It should be really thin, almost transparent. If it's too think, it won't get a nice crisp to it. Sprinkle seasons of choice on top.

  4. Bake for 10 minutes and remove to score the mixture into small squares. I use a pizza cutter for this, but a knife works too.

  5. Bake for another 15-20 minutes. Make sure to keep an eye on these so they don't burn.

  6. You'll know they're ready when they turn a golden brown and are firm to the touch.

  7. Remove and let cool. Once cool, the crackers will break along the scores you made.

  8. Store in an airtight container or bag.
